Video went viral of a couple for posing unclad at the top of pyramid Khufu

Cairo: After a video went viral on Social media of a Danish couple posing naked on the crest of the Great Khufu Pyramid of Giza, has created a lot buzz, the Egyptian authorities have now taken the matter into account and have probed the couple.

The three-minute video recorded at night shows the two climbing a pyramid which appears to be the Great Pyramid of Giza with the skyline of Cairo in the background, according to a report.

After reaching the top, the woman takes off her shirt and the video finishes with a still image showing them in a naked embrace on the ground.

The case was referred to the prosecutor general for investigation by Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anani.

"In regard of what was circulated and published yesterday evening for a short video film depicting two foreigners climbing the pyramid at night, and then put a picture of them violating public morality, and to find out the truth and take the necessary action, Minister of Antiquities, D. Khaled al-Anani, decided to immediately refer the case of the incident and the film to the Attorney General to investigate the matter," the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said in a statement.

According to a source the video was uploaded on YouTube on Wednesday by a self-proclaimed Danish photographer Andreas Hvid. The photographer travels around the world and takes pictures of different sites from high vantage points and uploading them on social media, sometimes depicting nudity.

The two may face serious charges under the law of the state as climbing pyramids is punishable by the law in Egypt.
