US Secretary of State warns the fire of Israel-Hamas war can spread to other countries also

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned that the war in Gaza could spread to other countries and threaten security in the broader Middle East.

“This is a moment of deep tension in the region,” Blinken said at a news conference in Doha along with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. This is a conflict whose scope could increase, leading to even more insecurity and even more suffering.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is on a tour of the Middle East with the aim of reducing the conflict. Antony Blinken, who arrived in Qatar as part of this visit, said he would tell Israeli officials that it is essential that they do more to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza and that Palestinian civilians should be allowed to return home and that they should not be forced to leave Gaza.

Blinken called the deaths of two Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza an "unimaginable tragedy", for which the Qatar-based network blamed Israel.

Blinken reached Qatar after stopping in Jordan, Türkiye and Greece. He went to Abu Dhabi late on Sunday night and is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia on Monday.

Hamas had launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7 last year. About 1140 people were killed in this attack, most of whom were civilians. According to Israel, Hamas fighters had taken about 250 people hostage, of whom 132 are still in captivity. At least 24 people are believed to have died.

More than 22 thousand Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed in relentless attacks by Israel after the terror attacks. All efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza have so far proved futile with neither side backing down.
