Tragedy Strikes: Indian National Killed in Hezbollah Missile Attack in Israel

In a heartbreaking incident, an Indian national lost his life in a missile attack near Israel's northern border. Uncover the details of the attack, the victims, and the aftermath in this in-depth article.

An Indian national, Pat Nibin Maxwell, met an untimely demise when an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon struck an orchard near Israel's northern border community of Margaliot. The incident occurred on Monday, leaving two others, Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin, injured.

Pat Nibin Maxwell, a 31-year-old from Kollam, Kerala, had arrived in Israel two months ago and was working on a farm at the time of the attack. Tragically, he leaves behind a five-year-old daughter and his pregnant wife.

The two injured individuals were identified as Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin. George underwent surgery for injuries to his face and body at Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva, while Melvin, from the Idukki district of Kerala, sustained minor injuries and is hospitalized at Ziv Hospital in Safed.

The missile struck a plantation in Margaliot, a moshav in the Galilee region, believed to be orchestrated by the Shi'ite Hezbollah faction in Lebanon. This faction has been launching attacks on northern Israel in support of Hamas amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Pathrose Maxwell, the victim's father, expressed his grief over the incident. The Israeli Embassy in India also conveyed its condolences, attributing the attack to the Hezbollah terror organization. They assured support to the injured and emphasized the equal regard for all nationals affected by terrorism.

This unfortunate event highlights the indiscriminate nature of such attacks, affecting lives across borders. The international community stands united in condemning acts of terrorism and supporting those impacted. As investigations unfold, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for global collaboration to address and prevent such tragic occurrences.
