Washington: At least three persons were killed and above 100 others injured when a train crashed into Hoboken Terminal building in American city of New Jersey on Thursday morning. A number of the victims were in serious condition.

“There are fatalities and a significant number of injuries. The train was at a great speed when it crashed,” said a senior transportation official. According to preliminary reports, train no. 1614 crashed owing to the operator’s error. An investigation was, however, underway.

“I crawled on my knees and hands to pull people out of the first train car on Track 5,” said Michael Larson, an NJ Transit employee. Moreover, serious damage was caused to the train and an extensive structural damage to the station.
