Third Wave: Corona infection continue to increase among children in America & Britain

New Delhi: Children will be more affected due to the third wave of corona in India. At the same time, cases of infection in children in America and Britain have increased compared to the first two waves, which can be a sign of danger for us.

Third wave of corona:

In Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Florida, cases of infection among children under the age of 18 are increasing. Children's Hospital in Arkansas has registered a 50 percent increase in the rate of children admitted to the infection. Seven toddlers are fighting for life in the ICU and two on ventilators.

In the last week of July in Louisiana, the maximum number of 4232 children have been infected. Here between July 15 and 21, the virus found in 66 children under the age of five. An average of 40 children are hospitalized every day in the UK.

At the same time, the Florida Department of Health has reported that there were 10,785 cases under the age of 12. Infection found in 11,048 children aged 12 to 19 years. Between July 23 and 30, 224 children have been admitted. In India too, more children have been infected in the second wave than in the first.

Deaths due to corona in 2020:

Corona was the leading cause of death of children in the US in 2020. University of Bristol pediatrician Prof. Adam Finn says that the risk of corona infection in children has not decreased. My colleagues tell that they are seeing infected children in the hospital but the numbers are high. It is clear from this that in the case of disease, this wave is slightly different than the previous two waves.

Vaccine for children:

Dr. Elizabeth Whitaker, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Imperial College London, says that the infection rate among children over the age of 12 has increased in the US and UK. Most of these children are those who have not been vaccinated. In such a situation, children have to be vaccinated at any cost.
