US Senator Tez Cruz endorses Donald Trump, vows to vote for him

Washington: United States Senator Tez Cruz on Friday said he would definitely vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump after not supporting him at the party’s National Convention in July last.

“Keeping my word, I have decided to vote for Trump after many months of careful consideration and searching my own conscience,” wrote the Senator from Texas in a Facebook post.

Cruz ended his post writing, “If you don’t want to see Clinton as the US President, I urge you to vote for Trump.”

He said there were two reasons that made him change his mind and stand by the Republican nominee. First, he wanted to abide by his promise to support Trump and second that he thought Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was completely unacceptable. “The endorsement of Senator Cruz has greatly honoured me,” said Trump.
