Sartaj Aziz to visit India in December to attend Heart of Asia Conference

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister's advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz said that his visit to Heart of Asia Conference in December could be a Good opportunity to 'Defuse the tension' between India and Pakistan. Aziz would be travelling to Amritsar to attend the conference on December 3.

Aziz visit to India would be the first of any senior Pakistani official since the September 10 Uri attack that led India to pull out of the SAARC Submit in Pakistan earlier in November last.

Aziz said, "Unlike India, that had sabotaged SAARC summit in Pakistan by pulling out, Pakistan will respond by participating in the Heart of Asia being held in India". He further stated, "It's a good opportunity to defuse the tension.

Aziz however stated," It has not been confirmed yet whether I will meet his Indian counterpart on the sidelines of the conference or not."
