New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on Thursday. He announced that Russia is going to conduct military operations in Ukraine (Russia-Ukraine War). Putin claimed that he intended to save the people living there. In his televised address, Putin said that this action was taken in response to threats coming from Ukraine.

He said that Russia has no intention of occupying Ukraine (Russia-Ukraine Crisis). Putin said that the responsibility of the bloodshed rests with the government of Ukraine (Russia-Ukraine War).

Putin warned other countries that any attempt to interfere with Russian action would have consequences he had never seen before. He accused the US and its allies of ignoring Russia's demand to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO and offering Moscow security guarantees. The Russian President said that the Russian military operation is aimed at ensuring the demilitarization of Ukraine. Putin said that all Ukrainian soldiers who lay down their arms will be able to exit the war zone safely. So far, there has been no comment from America on this announcement of Putin.

At the same time, explosions were heard near the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol. In such a situation, it is being feared that firing is going on there. This city is located 30 miles from the Russian border. Due to the sound of explosions, people woke up in the morning itself.

Videos of the incident have surfaced, in which a plume of smoke can be seen rising over the city. Apart from this, explosions have also been heard in the capital Kiev. Media reports said that the sounds of explosions are being heard in many cities including Kyiv and Kharkiv in Ukraine. A journalist said, in the last 3 minutes, two explosions were heard from my apartment in Kyiv.
