Omicron variant spreading rapidly in Britain, 10000 cases in a day

New Delhi: The new Omicron variant of Coronavirus cases in Britain is spreading rapidly. More than 10,000 infected people of Omicron have been found here in a day. This is the highest number of cases so far within 24 hours. In the UK, 90,418 new cases of corona infection were registered in the last 24 hours.

The British Health Protection Agency (UKHSA) has confirmed 10,059 new cases of Omicron, more than three times the number of 3,201 cases reported for this variant.

With this, a total of 24,968 cases of Omicron have been registered in the UK so far. In Britain, 125 patients have also died during the last 24 hours.

Seven patients infected with the new variant of the virus Omicron have died in the country.
