North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Sends Gardeners to Labour Camps, Why?

New Delhi: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has sent several gardeners to labor camps for failing to feed Kimjongilia begonia, a favorite flower to decorate the country's streets and memorials for father Kim Jong Il's birth anniversary. These camps are 24-hour prisons.

Kim Jong Un's strict action:

The flower is named Kimjongilia begonia after former dictator Jong-il. The gardeners were supposed to feed these flowers before the birth anniversary of Kim Jong-il on 16 February, but they did not succeed. A farm manager from Samsu County in northern Riangang province has been jailed for six months for neglecting plants.

Han could not find firewood to adequately heat the greenhouses during the winter months, and the plants died as a result. Along with him many other gardeners have also been sent to the labor camp.

Gardeners sent to labor camp:

Another farm gardener, 40-year-old Choi, was also sentenced to three months in the labor camp. It is alleged that he had not set the temperature of the greenhouse boilers properly.
