On Sunday afternoon in America, a person set himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy. Information about this incident has been given by the authority. The man was transported to an area hospital after the fire was brought under control, according to posts online by U.S. Secret Service officials, DC Fire and EMS. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department has said that the man's condition is serious.

Local police and US Secret Service are investigating this matter. The Israeli embassy has been the target of frequent protests against the war in Gaza. There are pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protests in the United States due to the war in Gaza.

The protests started after October 7 when Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic group that rules Gaza, killed 1,200 Israelis and took 253 people hostage in a cross-border attack.

Since then, Israeli forces have launched a military campaign against the coastal region, destroying much of it, killing about 30,000 people, according to Palestinian health officials.

There have been efforts to broker a ceasefire between the warring Israeli troops and Hamas militants by Qatar and other Arab nations but the talks have not yielded any positive results. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that his forces will not stop until they conquer the entire Gaza strip.

The situation in the Gaza strip has worsened following relentless Israeli strikes. The people have migrated to the southern part of Gaza to save themselves from the bombardment. The hospitals have run out of medicines and other important surgical instruments.

Israeli strikes have also adversely impacted supply of essential commodity into the Gaza strip and there were visuals showing people fighting for bread.
