Jaishankar on five-day visit to Russia
The ministry said the Jaishankar will visit Russia from December 25th to 29th as part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two sides.
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Russia on Monday on his five-day visit. Bilateral and global issues will be discussed during the visit. The Foreign Ministry gave this information on Sunday. The ministry said he would travel to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The ministry said the Jaishankar will visit Russia from December 25th to 29th as part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two sides. He will meet Russia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. He will also meet with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Focusing on people-to-people and cultural ties, the External Affairs Minister will attend events in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The two sides are expected to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade, energy, defense and connectivity. Jaishankar's visit is happening at that time when it has become clear that the annual summit of India-Russia leaders will not take place this year either.
