Israel has ordered the evacuation of 1.1 million people from northern Gaza. There is a fear that Israel may intensify ground attacks. However, the Israeli army has not given any information in this regard.

The United Nations estimates that millions of people are fleeing northern Gaza. At the same time, Hamas has appealed to the people not to leave Northern Gaza. Even after this, people are moving towards safe places.

On this great crisis of refugees, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said that it is very dangerous and in some cases impossible. Let us know about the area from where Israel has ordered people to leave-

Gaza Strip is a small area of about 365 square kilometers. On one side of it is the Mediterranean Sea. Its borders are with Israel and Egypt on three sides. There is Israeli territory on its north-eastern and south-eastern borders. The Gaza Strip borders Egypt to the south-west. To the west of the Gaza Strip is the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the two Palestinian territories. Apart from the Gaza Strip, the West Bank is the second Palestinian territory. Gaza Strip has been the center of conflict between Israel and Hamas. Hamas captured Gaza in 2007.

The area of the Gaza Strip that Israel has ordered to evacuate within 24 hours is one-third of the entire Gaza Strip. The order covers all of Gaza City and two major refugee camps – Jabalya and Beach camps. It also includes the cities of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya. Overall it is one of the most densely populated parts of the Gaza Strip.

At least 11 lakh people live in the affected area. The population of Gaza city is approximately 600000. Beech Camp is home to approximately 90,000 people and Jabalya, the largest camp in the Gaza Strip, houses 116,000 people. There are at least six hospitals in this area. There are also about two dozen primary care clinics.

There is only one main road in North-South, through which everyone is passing. Going out together in large numbers can prove to be extremely dangerous. Fuel is in short supply, and roads in Gaza City and elsewhere are already filled with debris. There is still no sign that Israeli airstrikes have stopped, allowing evacuations to begin.
