Iran's army entered Pakistan and killed the commander of terrorist group Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) Ismail Shahbaksh and some of his associates. This information has been given by 'Iran International' in its report quoting Iran's government media. About a month ago, Iran had carried out an air strike on Pakistan, in return for that, Pakistan had carried out an air strike on Iran.

According to the report, Jaish al-Adl was formed in 2012. Iran had declared this Sunni terrorist group as “terrorist”. It operates from Sistan-Baluchistan, the south-eastern province of Iran.

Over the past few years, Jaish al-Adl has carried out several attacks on Iranian security forces. According to Al Arabiya News, in December, Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility for an attack on a police station in Sistan-Baluchestan, in which at least 11 policemen were killed.

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to expand security cooperation with each other, weeks after they fired missiles at 'terrorist targets' in each other's territories last month, The News International reported.

The agreement was announced by Pakistan Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdullahian at a joint press conference at the Pakistan Foreign Office.

Jilani had said that both Iran and Pakistan would resolve some "misunderstandings" very soon. He said that both the countries also agreed to fight terrorism in their respective areas and solve each other's problems. However, this latest infiltration into the Pakistani border is showing a completely opposite attitude to his statement.

It is noteworthy that tension had increased between the two countries when both of them fired missiles targeting 'terrorist hideouts' in each other's territory.

Late on January 16, Iran launched missile and drone strikes in Pakistan to blow up two "important headquarters" of Jaish al-Adl. Al Arabiya News quoting Tasnim News Agency has written in its report that Pakistan alleged that two children were killed and three girls were injured in those attacks.

Pakistan recalled its ambassador from Iran on 17 January and announced that it would not allow the Iranian envoy, who was visiting his home country at that time, to return.

The next day, on January 18, Pakistan retaliated by carrying out air strikes inside Iran. Pakistan says it targeted bases used by 'terrorist groups' Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
