Iran will attack Israel 'today or tomorrow', we are determined to defend: Biden

US President Joe Biden has told reporters at the White House that he thinks Iran will attack Israel one day. According to CNN report, when Biden was asked by reporters on Friday when Iran might attack Israel, he said, "There is no definite information, but it is likely to happen soon."

Responding to another question from reporters, Biden said that America is "dedicated" to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel, we will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed." The US is on high alert for an Iranian retaliatory attack on Israel, raising fears of war in the region.

The White House said Friday that a "real" threat remains from Iran, following Israel's attack on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria last week. Three Iranian generals were killed in the Israeli attack. Several other countries, including the US, Britain and France, have issued new travel guidelines for their government employees in Israel.

In view of the potential threat, the Pentagon is working to strengthen security for American troops deployed in Iraq and Syria. In January this year, three American members were killed when a drone attacked American air defenses in Jordan. America is not predicting where Iran will attack American forces.
