Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday appreciated the Indian community in Kobe for creating their own identity in Japanese culture. The PM congratulated the Indians living in Japan for marking their presence in the history of trade and commerce. "Indian community in Kobe has a long history of trade and commerce. I congratulate all residents of Kobe on forthcoming 150 yrs of its port," said PM.

Prime Minister Modi also recalled his visit to Kobe earlier in years 2007 and 2012 and his association with Hyogo Prefecture.

"Our relationship is characterised by complete trust and mutual confidence," stated the PM. Modi also thanked Governor Ido for his valuable efforts in developing relationship with Gujarat.
