In some countries, people of Indian origin even hold the post of Prime Minister/President. But apart from these posts, people of Indian origin are also making their place in the parliament of other countries. Something similar happened in Australia also.

Varun Ghosh of Indian origin has succeeded in becoming a senator in Australia. Varun, a barrister by profession, first moved to Washington D.C. in the United States of America. He has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank based in Washington D.C. and now becoming a senator of Australia is a big milestone for Varun.

Varun took oath as a senator by placing his hand on Bhagavad Gita in the Parliament of Australia. This is the first time in the history of Australia that a senator has taken oath by placing his hand on the Bhagavad Gita. While doing this, Varun has also influenced many people.

Varun has been elected senator from Western Australia on behalf of the Labor Party in Australia. Varun has been elected to the post of senator in place of current senator Patrick Dodson.

Varun Ghosh is a lawyer from Perth. He received degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Western Australia and studied law at the University of Cambridge. He previously worked as a lawyer in New York and as a consultant for the World Bank in Washington, DC.

Varun Ghosh's political journey started when he joined the Labor Party of Australia in Perth. He was just 17 years old when his parents left India in the 1980s. Varun Ghosh said in a statement that I have been blessed with a good education and I strongly believe that high quality education and training should be available to everyone.
