The enthusiasm among the people regarding the consecration of the idol of Ram Lala in the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 has crossed the boundaries of the country. Nearly a dozen events are planned across the United States to celebrate this historic occasion.

Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), shared information about the widespread enthusiasm.

He said, "There will be about a dozen events across the US. Among them, the Pran Pratistha (inauguration of the temple) of Ram Mandir will be celebrated all the way from New York Times Square. Events are also scheduled in Boston, Washington DC, LA or San Francisco. , which will take place at the same time as the ceremony in India."

Aghi stressed that the Ram Mandir event has a cultural, emotional and religious connection with the Indian American community, reflecting a movement that extends beyond geographic boundaries.

He said, "But this shows that the culture of the 5 million Indian Americans who have settled in America is with them, and they are connected emotionally, economically and I would say religiously. And this reflects that momentum in America too. So I think there will be a massive celebration on January 22."

The whole world is keeping an eye on the celebrations of Ram Temple. In view of its importance, the Government of Mauritius has announced a special holiday of two hours on 22 January for Hindu officers working in public service. The purpose of this step is to make it possible for them to participate in the local programs to be held on the occasion of 'Pran Pratistha' of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

The Mauritius Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, issued an official statement on Friday. It reads, "The Cabinet has agreed to grant a special holiday of two hours on Monday, the 22nd January, 2024. In the context of the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple in India, under the exigencies of service, public officers of Hindu faith will be given 1400, which is a historic event as it marks the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu stressed the importance of the Ramayana epic during an event at the US Capitol Hill on Wednesday. He said, this epic serves as a bridge across geographical regions and provides valuable insights into human relationships, governance, spirituality, duty, justice, sacrifice, loyalty and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
