Four killed, over ten injured in a mysterious blast in Lahore

Lahore: At least six people were killed and more than 10 were injured in a mysterious blast in Lahore. The target of the attack was census team, said the officials.

The incident took place at the Bedian road Manawala Chowk in Lahore on Wednesday. Out of six deceased, four were Pakistani Army officers.

The injured were immediately taken to the nearby hospital where the doctors said that there conditions are critical. The doctor stated, "People sustained critical injuries and we are trying our best to save their lives."

Punjab provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah said,"It appears to have been an act of terrorism and the attack had been carried out by a suicide bomber."

  • No groups claims the responsibility of the attack.
  • The police officials have cordoned off the area after the incident and search operation is underway.

It may be mentioned that, Pakistan is carrying the second census. The last was held in 1998. The military is helping the Civilian Bureau of Statistics carry out a door-to-door survey of the population.
