Austin: At least eight people were killed and about 40 others were injured when a charter bus heading to a casino crashed in South Texas on May 14.

According to Webb County volunteer Fire Department Chief, Ricardo Rangel," The bus was belonging to OGA charters,started its journey from Rio Grand Valley and was headed to a casino in Eagle Pass, about 125 miles northwest of Laredo.The bus company is based on San Juan in Hidalgo County. There was no answer at the bus company and no one immediately responded to a message left there."

  • The incident was just a rollover involving just one vehicle.
  • Firefighters received a call at late Saturday morning.
  • Seven people died at spot on US Highway 83 north of Laredo and eighth person died later at the hospital.
  • This accident was one of the deadliest bus accidents in Texas in the last several years.
