No major damage caused by two earthquakes in Ecuador

Quito: Two earthquakes of magnitude 6.4 and 5.9 struck Ecuador's northwest coast on Sunday, said U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

  • The centre of the quake was South coastal side of Esmeraldas, Quito.
  • According to the USGS, the depth of the earthquake was about 35 kilometres.
  • There are no reports of any major damage or injury.
