New Delhi: Along with our Earth, which is revolving around the Sun in space, there is also an asteroid which is revolving in its orbit. Scientists have named it 'Earth Trojan Asteroid'. Actually, astronomers discovered it already in the year 2020. But till that time it was being seen as a wonderful commodity.

Earth has a new neighbor:

Now they have confirmed that it is an 'Earth Trojan asteroid'. Which will continue to revolve with the Earth for the next 4 thousand years. Researchers have described Trojan as the second and largest asteroid to orbit the Earth. According to researchers, so far Trojan asteroids of our solar system and other planets outside it have been discovered in space. Earlier in the year 2010 also an object was discovered, which was named 2010 TK7.

Although it is very small, it is the second and largest asteroid to orbit the Earth in its orbit. The study's author, Tony Santana Ross, said the Earth Trojan was previously named 2020 XL5. The discovery of the Trojan confirms that the 2010 TK7 encounter is nothing new. It is likely that there are many other such asteroids, which are still hidden from our eyes. We need to focus more on our surveillance to find them.

In December 2020, astronomers discovered 2020 XL5 with the Pan-STARRS 1 Survey Telescope. This telescope is located in Hawaii. Which revolves around the Sun while staying in the Earth's orbit.

About asteroids:

These are rocks that revolve around the sun like a planet. But they are much smaller than planets in size. Most of the asteroids in our solar system are found in the asteroid belt orbiting Mars and Jupiter. Apart from this, they rotate in the orbit of other planets and keep revolving around the Sun along with the planet.
