Cocaine found at White House in USA
The White House complex was temporarily closed following the recovery. Reports said that the powder was sent for examination and later it was confirmed that it was cocaine.
Secret Service officers found Cocaine at the White House, the official residence of the US president, in USA late on Sunday night. The recovery was made at the West Wing of the White House at a time when US president Joe Biden was not there.
The White House complex was temporarily closed following the recovery. Reports said that the powder was sent for examination and later it was confirmed that it was cocaine.
The officials however had no idea yet about how the contraband found its way into the White House.
Biden was not in the White House on Sunday. He returned with his family from a weekend at the presidential retreat Camp David on Tuesday morning.
According to the media reports, powder was found in west wing. The White House is connected to the executive mansion where President Joe Biden lives. It includes Oval office, the Cabinet Room and press area, and offices and workspaces for the President's staff. Hundreds of people regularly work in or visit the West Wing.
The officers said on Tuesday that an unknown item had been found in west wing on Sunday. After this, the White House corridor had temporarily closed. The item was identified as Cocaine.
An officer told that fire brigade also called after suspicion that the powder could be an explosive also.
