Coal mine blast kills 17 in northern China

At least 17 people were killed in an explosion at a coal mine in the wee hours on Sunday in northern China. More than 10 people were trapped inside the mine.

Seventeen people killed in Coal mine blast in northern China

Beijing: At least 17 people were killed in an explosion at a coal mine in the wee hours on Sunday in northern China. More than 10 people were trapped inside the mine.

The mine was operated by Baoma Mining Co. Ltd.which is located in the Chifeng city.

According to the officials,"More than 181 people were working inside the coal mine in which 149 managed to get out and more than 10 people were still trapped inside when explosion took place."

  • Rescue team and police officials reached the spot.

  • The reason of the explosion is not clear.

  • Further investigation regarding the incident is on.
