Mumbai: A major accident occurred in Suzhou city of Jiangsu province, located in the eastern region of China. A hotel building collapsed here, killing eight people. At the same time, nine people are reported missing. Local officials said that the matter is being investigated.

According to the information, this incident happened on Monday (July 12) at around 3:33 pm. During that time 23 people came under the rubble. On Tuesday (July 13) 14 people were found at 7 am, out of which one person survived safely.

At the same time, the condition of five is normal. However, nine people are still missing.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accident happened due to illegal renovations being done. Officials of Wujiang district said that an investigation has been started in the matter. Also, the hotel staff is also being questioned.

8 people died:

Siji Kaiyuan hotel collapsed on Monday afternoon. Officials initially said that one person had died in this incident, but later it was told that 8 people have died so far. So far, the real reason for the collapse of this hotel has not been revealed.

According to its listing on travel site Ctrip, the Siji Kaiyuan Hotel was opened to the public in 2018 and has 54 rooms. Images from the scene showed rescue workers dressed in orange as standing on huge piles of rubble. These people are searching for people by removing the debris.

Suzhou has a population of 12 million and is located 100 kilometers west of Shanghai. The city of Suzhou is known for its canals and century-old gardens.
