China is not desisting from its actions regarding Arunachal Pradesh. It has again changed the names of 30 places in the state as per his wish. China's official newspaper Global Times reported that the Ministry of Civil Affairs has released a list of new names of 30 places in Jangnan. China calls Arunachal Pradesh as Jangnan. The report released on the website of the ministry states that this order will be considered effective from May 1.

It has also been told in the report that these names cannot be changed to any foreign language without its approval. India rejected this claim saying that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and keeping the fictitious name does not change the reality. China continues to claim Arunachal as part of southern Tibet.

The Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs had released the first list of change of names of six places in Arunachal Pradesh in 2017. After this, the names of 11 places were changed by releasing the second list of 15 places in 2021 and the third list in 2023. Now names of 30 places have been changed in the fourth list.

China's rhetoric started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh last month. On March 9, PM Modi had inaugurated the Sela Tunnel built at an altitude of 13 thousand feet in the state. China has also expressed protest at the diplomatic level regarding this visit.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has reprimanded China in strong words. Speaking at the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce, Jaishankar said, if I change the name of your house, will it become mine? Arunachal Pradesh was and will remain a state of India. Changing the name will not make any difference.

Congress has sought answers from the PM on Chinese moves. The party wrote on X, China is continuously occupying Indian land in Ladakh as well as Arunachal Pradesh. Names of places are changing, but Prime Minister Modi is silent. He (Modi) does not listen to his own MP Tapir Gao, who said that if there will be another Doklam anywhere, it will be in Arunachal Pradesh.
