New York: Apparently hell-bent on raising the Kashmir issue, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said the Indian brutalities in the valley were well-documented and that his country would share dossier on human rights violation by India with the United Nations (UN).

Sharif was speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

  • “Pakistan looks for peace with India. In fact, we have gone to great lengths to achieve this but the neighbouring country has posed unacceptable pre-conditions to dialogue.”
  • “Burhan Wani, a youth leader killed by the Indian forces, has became the new hero of the Kashmir ‘intifada’.”
  • “We demand a probe into the extra judicial killing in the Indian valley and an end to the curfew.”
  • “Hundreds of people have been blinded, wounded or killed by pellet guns and these brutalities of India are well documented.”
  • “We will be sharing dossier with the United Nations on human rights violation by India in the valley.”
  • “Pakistan has been the prime victim of terrorism including that backed and sponsored from abroad.”
  • “Talks are not only in Pakistan’s favour but in the interest of both the countries.”
