It is not yet clear who is going to form the next government in Pakistan.

According to the media reports, both jailed Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif are claiming victory, although the election results have not been officially announced yet. But after both the leaders claimed victory, there is an atmosphere of turmoil in the politics of Pakistan.

In the voting held on Thursday, Nawaz Sharif's party won the most seats compared to any other party, but the jailed Imran Khan, who contested the elections as an independent, won the most seats overall.

Nawaz Sharif says that his party will talk to other parties to form a coalition government as it has not been successful in gaining a clear majority on its own.

Nawaz Sharif's statement came after the results of more than three-fourth of the 265 seats were declared. Analysts had predicted that there could be no clear winner, due to which the country is struggling to overcome the economic crisis.

Pakistan's election results have shown that independent candidates have won the most seats, most of them supported by Imran Khan's party. The independents won 98 out of 245 seats. While Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) got 69 seats, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's Pakistan People's Party got 51 seats. The remaining seats were won by smaller parties and other independent candidates.

"After the elections, Pakistan Muslim League is the biggest party in the country today and it is our duty to take this country out of the whirlpool," Nawaz Sharif told a crowd of supporters gathered outside his home in the eastern city of Lahore. He said, "Whoever has got the mandate, be it independents or parties, we respect the mandate they have got. We invite them to join us and help the wounded nation get back on its feet."

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan released his AI-based 'victory speech' on Saturday. In this speech, Imran said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif's 'London Plan' failed due to the huge turnout of voters on the polling day.
