After Iran's drone attacks on Israel, a White House official said that President Joe Biden has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that America will not participate in retaliatory strike against Iran. The outbreak of war between the Middle East's arch enemies and the threat of US involvement in it has increased concerns about the region, leading to calls for restraint from global powers and Arab countries to avoid further escalation.

American media had reported on Sunday that Biden had called Netanyahu and informed him that he would not participate in the retaliation. A White House official has confirmed this to the media.

Top White House national security spokesman John Kirby said that the US will continue to help Israel defend itself, but does not want war.

Iran carried out this attack in response to a suspected Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria on April 1. Top Revolutionary Guard commanders were killed in the attack on the Syrian Consulate.

The attack by more than 300 missiles and drones launched from Iran caused minor damage to Israel, as most were shot down with the help of the US, Britain and Jordan. An air force base in southern Israel was attacked but continued to operate normally and a 7-year-old boy was seriously injured by shrapnel. There are no other reports of serious damage.

Defense Minister Yoav Galant also said that Israel has an opportunity to "build a strategic alliance against this serious threat from Iran that is threatening to put nuclear explosives on these missiles, which could be a very serious threat."
