New Delhi: Higher education minister in the new Taliban government said women can study in universities at all levels, including postgraduate, but classes should be divided on gender lines and wearing Islamic dress will be mandatory.

The minister, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, outlined these new policies at a press conference on Sunday. A few days before this, the new rulers of Afghanistan announced the formation of a full-fledged Taliban government, which does not include a single woman.

Separate classes for girls:

Haqqani said female students of the university would have to wear the hijab but did not elaborate on whether it would mean wearing only a head scarf or that covering the face would also be mandatory. Earlier, the Taliban had also decreed that the girl students studying in the university should be taught only by women and if possible they could appoint old men of good character. The Taliban issued further orders saying women must finish their lessons five to ten minutes earlier so that they can't meet anyone outside.

Taliban's decree:

The Taliban has again made it clear that the government will run in Afghanistan only under Sharia law. Zabiullah Mujahid has appealed to the people not to leave Afghanistan. The Islamic country has no problem with anyone, foreign countries should also resume their embassies in Afghanistan.

"A woman cannot become a minister. To become a minister of a woman is like putting something around her neck, which she cannot lift. It is not necessary for women to be in the cabinet. They should give birth. That is their job. Women are not representing everyone in Afghanistan."

Recently, Taliban spokesman Syed Zakirullah Hashmi had said 'a woman cannot become a minister. To become a minister of a woman is like putting something around her neck, which she cannot lift. It is not necessary for women to be in the cabinet. They should have children. That is their job. Women protesters are not representing all women in Afghanistan.
