New Delhi: The capture of the power of Kabul by the Taliban is a matter of great concern to the international community. That is why in the previous meetings of the United Nations Security Council, the issue of Taliban dominated, but now the UNSC has passed its resolution regarding Afghanistan.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla was in New York to participate in this meeting chaired by India.

UNSC adopts proposal on Afghanistan:

The resolution passed by the UNSC under the chairmanship of India got the support of 13 countries. Whereas Russia and China kept themselves apart. Passing the resolution, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that Afghanistan is of direct importance to India. Therefore, the Taliban will have to show commitment to this proposal.

Before giving formal recognition to the Taliban, the Security Council has made it clear that it will not allow Afghanistan's land to become a den of terror. According to news agency ANI, it has been clearly said in the resolution that the Taliban will not allow the land of Afghanistan to be used in war against any other country. Not only this, no terrorist training or plan of attack against any country will be prepared in Afghanistan.

According to sources, the UNSC proposal will prove to be helpful for Indians and Afghan citizens trapped in Afghanistan. The proposal has taken full care that Indian citizens as well as Afghans who want to come to India can travel to India in a safe manner. During the resolution, the US representative said that the Taliban must ensure that Afghans or other foreigners who want to come out of Afghanistan after August 31 are given full protection.

Security Council will keep an eye on Afghanistan:

The Security Council made it clear that we will continue to meet on the issue of Afghanistan and decide that the border of Afghanistan should not be used for terror, as well as the Council will keep an eye on the ground reality and international relations there.
