New Delhi: The crisis on the Ashraf Ghani government in Afghanistan is deepening. Taliban fighters have reached near Kabul and there has been a complete blackout in the capital. According to reports, the Taliban destroyed the electricity supply using explosives.

On the other hand, it is clearly visible in the video shared on social media that Kabul is shrouded in darkness and the conflict with the Taliban has reached its turning point.

With this, an Afghan lawmaker and the Taliban have said that extremists have captured Jalalabad and Kabul has been cut off from the eastern part of the country. The Taliban released some photos online on Sunday morning in which its men can be seen in the governor's office in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province. Province MP Abarullah Murad told the Associated Press that extremists had captured Jalalabad.

Taliban control all key cities:

Earlier, Afghanistan's fourth largest city Mazar-e-Sharif was captured by the Taliban after all-out attacks on Saturday. An MP gave this information. With this, the Taliban took control of all of northern Afghanistan, and now only the central and eastern parts remain under the control of a Western-backed government.

Balkh MP Abas Ibrahimzada said the province's National Army Corps surrendered first, after which pro-government militias and other forces lost their morale and conceded defeat.

He said Abdul Rashid and Ata Mohammed, who led thousands of fighters, had fled the province of Noor and were nowhere to be found. An Afghan lawmaker said the Taliban had captured Daikundi province without a fight. Provincial MP Syed Mohamed Dawood Nasiri said only two shots were fired before the rebels took control of all provincial installations in the capital Nili.

Taliban has come a long way in recent times. They captured Herat and Kandahar, the country's second and third largest cities, respectively. It now occupies about 24 out of 34 provinces. The Taliban occupied Kunar, a small province bordering Pakistan, without a fight. Nemtullah Karyab, an MP from the region, gave this information. Later, the fighters captured Mihterlam, the capital of Lagman province, without a fight. State MP Jefon Safi gave this information.
