Lucknow, September 3rd - In an effort to provide quality healthcare services and advanced diagnostics to the common citizens of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has approved the redevelopment plan of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in the state capital, Lucknow. The decision includes the construction of the Kidney, Liver, and Bone Marrow Transplantation Center on the sixth and seventh floors of the main medical building at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. It's worth noting that this proposal was initially submitted to the state government on January 30, 2023, and has now received financial and administrative approval in line with Chief Minister Yogi's vision. A total of INR 18.22 crore has been allocated for this project, with an initial installment of INR 4.55 crore approved by the Yogi government.

This development is expected to expedite the construction work for the Kidney, Liver, and Bone Marrow Transplantation Center, enhancing healthcare facilities not only for Lucknow but also for patients from the surrounding regions. Additionally, the pending 5% amount of the construction cost for the 300-bed hostel in Safai, Etawah, has also been approved in line with Chief Minister Yogi's objectives.

Furthermore, the initial installment for the construction of the Kidney, Liver, and Bone Marrow Transplantation Center at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences includes an 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) amount. All construction activities will be carried out under the guidance of the state government's rules and plans, overseen by the Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.

The construction of a 300-bed men's hostel at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in Safai, Etawah, with a total cost of INR 28.28 crore, will also see accelerated progress. The project was pending approval for a 5% installment of INR 1.41 crore, which has now been granted. The state government has allocated an additional INR 41.42 lakh to expedite the construction work. The expenditure of the approved amount will be strictly monitored and utilized for the designated purposes, with any irregularities or deviations being addressed through appropriate action. The responsibility for quality control of construction activities rests with the Principal Secretary.
