Yogi Government Provides Pure Drinking Water to 50% of Homes in UP
The Jal Jeevan Mission's "Har Ghar Jal" scheme in Uttar Pradesh achieved a milestone on Saturday by providing clean water to 50 percent of rural households through tap connections.
Lucknow, July 1. The Jal Jeevan Mission's "Har Ghar Jal" scheme in Uttar Pradesh achieved a milestone on Saturday by providing clean water to 50 percent of rural households through tap connections. The Yogi government, working in line with the Prime Minister's vision, has achieved the feat of reaching every rural household with clean water, covering a total of 133,257,52 rural families in the state. So far, approximately 799,545,12 rural families have been connected to the scheme. It is noteworthy that the "Har Ghar Jal" scheme aims to provide clean water through tap connections to over 26 million rural households by the year 2024. Officials from the Government of India congratulated the Yogi government for its rapid progress in achieving this significant milestone.
Mahoba Tops the List in Providing Tap Connections The achievement of the Yogi government includes remote areas of Bundelkhand and nine districts in the Vindhya region. In seven districts of Bundelkhand, approximately 1,178,927 rural families have access to clean drinking water through the "Har Ghar Jal" scheme. Mahoba district in Bundelkhand ranks first in providing tap connections, reaching 91.88 percent of rural families. In the Vindhya region, the scheme has benefitted 474,244 rural families. In the 27 districts of Purvanchal, clean water is reaching over 48 million rural households, totaling more than 40 million rural residents. Similarly, in the 26 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh, the "Har Ghar Jal" scheme has brought the gift of clean water to 6,328,887 rural families through the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Inauguration of the "Ek Nal-Ek Ped" Campaign In accordance with the Chief Minister's vision, the Namami Gange and Rural Drinking Water Department launched the "Ek Nal-Ek Ped" campaign in the state from July 1 to July 7. During this period, along with tree planting, rural women associated with water committees and those receiving tap connections were presented plants as gifts to kickstart the "Ek Nal-Ek Ped" campaign. It should be noted that during July 1 to July 7, nearly 500,000 rural families in the state will receive tap connections, along with tree planting activities.
