Ghaziabad/Lucknow: A mother-daughter duo from Ghaziabad were left overwhelmed with joy due to the swift action taken by the Chief Minister's Office on their letter highlighting their daily-life struggles. They could not believe that on such short notice, their problem will be addressed and justice will be served.

Mamata and her mother were helpless, penniless and unable to live in their own place in Ghaziabad because of some unthoughtful construction surrounding their very old and dilapidated home. Despite facing all the struggle, they ran from pillar to post before finally knocking at the door of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As soon as the CM came to know about the miserable condition of Mamata, he immediately ordered to provide her with the help of Rs 25,000 for her mother's treatment, ensuring the allocation of funds as per rules under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and allotment of a house to reside under ASRA Yojana, till their ancestral home in Ghaziabad is repaired.

The District Supply Officer, Ghaziabad, has also been directed to help Mamata get her Antyodaya card. The officials of the Ghaziabad Development Authority have also been asked to issue instructions to the owner of the building not to convert the residential building located on the left side of Mamata's house into a mosque.

The Incident

In the letter, Mamata, a resident of Shaheed Nagar, Ghaziabad, had written that her house was surrounded by a Mosque and she was being unnecessarily harassed by some miscreants on a daily basis. She also highlighted that people were dumping garbage inside her house from the roof of the mosque. She went on to write that some people used to keep looking inside their house when they took a bath, and some unidentified children still do that.

She also claimed that the drain around the mosque was deliberately turned towards her house and sometimes, the dirty waste of the drain even comes inside their home. In addition to their misery, Mamata's mother has cataracts in her eyes, while Mamata herself is physically disabled. She has undergone major spinal surgery, due to which the lower part of her waist does not work properly.

Hence, Mamata urged the CM to take strict action against the harassers, get her Antyodaya card made, a house to reside in, and some funds to repair her house and get medical treatment for herself and her mother.
