Lucknow, 3 November : Over 250 Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries along with Presidents, Prime Ministers and many other high dignitaries from 61 countries of the world were accorded a very warm welcome today at CMS Kanpur Road premises. These Chief Justices and eminent personalities have arrived here at Lucknow to participate in the '24th International Conference of Chief Justices of the world' organized by City Montessori School. The occasion sparkled with the dignified presence of Hon'ble Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon, Vice-President of Mauritius, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mayor of Lucknow, Mrs Sushma Kharakwal as Special Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon inaugurated the Welcome Ceremony by lighting the auspicious lamp of unity and peace. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Mr Boissezon commended CMS for organizing this huge congregation of the World Judiciary and raising its voice in favour of children's rights. He said that today all nations need to join hands in ensuring a safe future for the world's children. On this occasion, CMS students presented a series of educational-cultural items giving the message of Unity in Diversity in honour of high dignitaries that mesmerized one and all.

Speaking at the Welcome Ceremony, Special Guest of Honour, Mrs Sushma Kharakwal said that children are our future and their welfare should be paramount for us. On this occasion, Mrs Sushma Kharakwal honoured Hon'ble Mr Justice Adelino Manuel Muchanga, Chief Justice of Mozambique by presenting him with the 'Key to the City of Lucknow' while the former Prime Minister of Lesotho Hon'ble Dr Pakalitha B. Mosisili was honoured with the 'Mahatma Gandhi Award for World Unity'.

CMS Founder and Convener of the Chief Justices’ Conference, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, warmly welcomed all the dignitaries including the Presidents, Prime Ministers and Chief Justices from different countries. CMS President & MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon also welcomed the jurists and legal luminaries.

At a press conference held in the afternoon session, the Heads of State and jurists from various countries commended CMS for this historic initiative to bring the world’s most powerful judiciary together in order to make a framework for a New World Order that would safeguard the future of the world’s 2.5 billion children and generations yet to be born. At the press conference, Hon'ble Mr Justice Moses Cuthbert Bhekie Maphalala, Chief Justice of Eswatini; Hon'ble Mr Justice Terence Rannowane, Chief Justice of the High Court of Botswana; Hon'ble Mr Justice Chan Reec Madut, Chief Justice of South Sudan; Hon'ble Mr Justice Adelino Manuel Muchanga, Chief Justice of Mozambique; Hon'ble Ms Justice Bibi Rehana Mungly-Gulbul, Chief Justice of Mauritius and many other jurists and legal luminaries expressed their views.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that the formal inauguration of this historic conference will take place tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, at 9.00 am at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Prior to the inaugural function, CMS students will take out a huge 'World Unity March' from Purani Chungi, Kanpur Road to CMS Kanpur Road auditorium.
