Varanasi: Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetisation decision the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that the move was made at the wrong time and with a bad intention.

While speaking at a public gathering in Varanasi, the Delhi CM said, "The scheme, time and motive behind it, all are wrong. The PM has introduced the note ban to save his corrupt friends. It is a scam worth rupees 8 crores which aims at increasing corruption in the country." The Delhi CM also stated, "The scheme was prepared by Modi and Amit Shah to waive off the bad loans of the businessmen close to their government."

What else he said:

  • I want to save the country from being exploited by the government at the Centre.
  • I am here to save the nation. If I would have wanted to do politics I would have visited Punjab instead.
  • The Centre is responsible for the deaths in the country because of Demonetisation and the PM is answerable to the nation regarding this.
  • If this scheme would have had any benefit to the nation I would have been the first one chanting the PM 's name.
