125 kids taken ill due to food poisoning by mid-day meal

Ballia: About 125 children were taken ill after consuming mid-day meal at am primary school in Bhadurpur Nayee Basti village under Haldi police station of Belhari in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

The school had celebrated 'special day' during which the food was served to them. Soon after the kids complained of vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms, they were referred to the hospital where they are out of danger now.

The acting district Magistrate K Balaji said that a four-member committee had been formed to probe it. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Rakesh singh informed that four teachers had been suspended while five persons including three cooks were dismissed from the services in this connection.
