Amid the huge spike in Covid cases, the Yogi Adityanath government has announced an extension of lockdown for Uttar Pradesh for 2 more days. The state govt said that now lockdown restrictions will be followed from Friday night to Thursday morning 7 am.

The restrictions will continue as earlier and all markets, private and public offices will be closed from Friday night to Thursday 7 am till further orders.

Corona curfew in Uttar Pradesh extended till May 6 morning

Markets, shopping malls, and restaurants will also be closed. The government has advised people to remain indoors and only those involved in essential services will be exempted from the restrictions. Pharmacy shops, hospitals, and other essential services will be available during the lockdown. Religious places will also remain shut.

Earlier the Uttar Pradesh had decided to implement the corona curfew from Friday night till Tuesday 7am which has now been extended till Thursday.

Restrictions will not be imposed after Thursday 7 am and till Friday 8 pm.

Uttar Pradesh reported 30,983 fresh COVID-19 cases and 290 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the State Health Department. The fresh cases have taken the tally of state's active cases to 2,95,752. The state saw 36,650 recoveries.

The total cases in UP stand at 13,13,361 while the state's death toll has reached 13,162. On Saturday, UP had recorded 30,317 fresh cases with 303 deaths.
