UP: Single-day Covid jump breaches 20,000-mark; recoveries go up as 29,358 discharged

UP: Single-day Covid jump breaches 20,000-mark; recoveries go up as 29,358 discharged

LUCKNOW: India is fighting its battle again with the second wave of Coronavirus. People from all walks and corners are coming forward and extending their help. According to statistics, 3 lakh 11 thousand 325 new cases have come in the country. 3,35,645 people were discharged: At the same time, 3576 people died in the last 24 hours.

COVID in UP:

The state on Tuesday reported 20,463 fresh cases. While 29,358 people are discharged in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours. On Monday, 21,331 new coronavirus cases have been found in Uttar Pradesh with 278 more fatalities. A total of 29,709 people recovered from coronavirus in the past 24 hours. At present there are 2,25,271 active cases in the state.

WHO praises CM Yogi Adityanath:

About one lakh active cases have been reduced in the last ten days in the state. This effort by Yogi Adityanath government of the state has also been greatly appreciated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Uttar Pradesh extends 'corona curfew' till 17 May

The Uttar Pradesh administration has decided to extend the partial curfew imposed in the state till 17 May as Covid-19 cases continue to surge. Until relaxation of the orders, all shops and establishments are required to remain closed. In addition to this, all essential services will be allowed and the Covid-19 vaccination drive will continue.

The UP government had on 29 April announced that weekend curfews will hereon cover Mondays as well. It had later extended the order till 6 May and then extended it further till 10 May. The Allahabad High Court had on 27 April urged the state government to impose a lockdown for two weeks to contain the sharp spike in coronavirus infections.
