UP Politics: BSP MP Danish Ali Faces Political Challenges in Amroha Amidst SP-RLD Alliance Announcement

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal have declared an alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. While the seat distribution is yet to be finalized, both parties have announced unity to strengthen their mutual alliance.

This alliance has posed difficulties for BSP's suspended MP Danish Ali. Sources suggest that Danish Ali, who had expressed interest in contesting elections on the Congress ticket from Amroha, might now face challenges as the seat is likely to be allocated to the Rashtriya Lok Dal.

Seat Distribution Impasse Between SP-Congress

The seat distribution in Uttar Pradesh is still undecided among the parties participating in the India alliance. Despite three rounds of discussions between Congress and Samajwadi Party, a final decision on seat distribution has not been reached. Samajwadi Party's Chief Secretary Prof. Ramgopal Yadav stated that half the journey has been decided, leaving the other half pending.

Congress leader Salman Khurshid, on the other hand, mentioned a deadlock in seat negotiations between the two parties. If the matter remains unresolved in the next round of discussions, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will engage in talks with SP leader Akhilesh Yadav on the matter.

Amroha Seat in RLD Quota

In the midst of the alliance between SP and RLD, Congress may face increased challenges. Sources indicate that some seats are being allocated to Rashtriya Lok Dal by SP, which were initially demanded by Congress.

It is reported that in the SP-RLD alliance, Rashtriya Lok Dal has secured seven seats. These seats, mostly from western UP, include Meerut, Mathura, Bagpat, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, and Kairana. In this scenario, the challenges for Congress and particularly BSP MP Danish Ali, representing Amroha, are likely to intensify.

Danish's Election Prospects Complicated

Recently, BSP Chief Mayawati suspended Danish Ali from the party due to growing proximity to Congress. Following this, Danish Ali has shown willingness to join Congress. Rahul Gandhi visited Ali's residence for discussions after controversial remarks made by a BJP MP in the Lok Sabha. Ali also participated in Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra under Rahul Gandhi's guidance. Now, if the Amroha seat is allocated to RLD in the SP alliance, Danish Ali's political path might become challenging.

Danish Ali may face the prospect of contesting the Lok Sabha elections empty-handed, especially since he had already expressed his intention to contest from Amroha once again.
