UP emerging as a hub for sustainable investments

Uttar Pradesh is fast emerging as a hub of sustainable investments in the field of promotion of electric vehicle, industry, export promotion following investments friendly policies of the government.

In a bid to promote investments in the state to promote industrial developments, a delegation from UP held talks with the representatives of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at Gandhinagar at the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

The IACC organised a Seminar on Environment and Climate Change, Green Economy- “Transition to Green Economy and EVs”, highlighting UP as an aspiring hub for sustainable investments.

Many industry expert, senior government official and entrepreneurs attended the seminar and discussed issues concerning environmental sustainability.

UP minister for industrial developments, export promotion Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, who was the chief guest at the seminar, reiterated his government's commitment to transforming UP into an investors' paradise through sustainable initiatives.

He said, “The foundational underpinning of any robust economic system primarily hinges on industrial development. We envision Uttar Pradesh as an oasis for investors, where growth aligns seamlessly with sustainability. Our commitment to industrial development goes hand in hand with environmental consciousness. The National Seminar on Environment and Climate Change is a testament to our dedication to fostering a vibrant ecosystem that benefits both investors and our precious environment.”

Speaking on the occasion Abhishek Prakash CEO, Invest UP said, “Uttar Pradesh boasts the highest number of registered Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the country. Additionally, in terms of on-road EVs, Uttar Pradesh leads as the foremost state in India. Our government has taken numerous significant steps to promote growth in this sector. Emphasis has been placed on the expansion of electric buses in public transportation, and a separate sectoral policy has been implemented for the development of this sector under the new industrial policy.”

Additional chief secretary of the Department of Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, Manoj Singh said “With a focus on eco-friendly practices, the state government underlines its dedication to creating a harmonious balance between industrial growth and environmental conservation.”

The seminar served as a pivotal platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh's emergence as a leader in sustainable investments.
