Cow is mother, sacred to us: PM Modi

During this, PM Modi also remembered the former Prime Minister of the country, Chaudhary Charan Singh. Modi said that some people have made it a crime to talk about cow and dung money here. Cow can be a crime for some people, for us cow is mother. People who make fun of cow forget that the livelihood of 8 crore people of the country is run by this livestock. India produces milk worth eight and a half lakh crores every year.

PM Modi said that the people of about 6 districts of Purvanchal will not only get jobs but farmers and livestock owners will also benefit greatly from the Banas Dairy Plant. Today, documents of their homes have also been handed over to lakhs of people of UP. Schemes worth more than 1500 crores have been inaugurated and foundation stones have been laid. These plans will change the picture of Varanasi.

The PM said that there was a time when the presence of cattle in our courtyard was a sign of prosperity. It is also said in our scriptures that the cow should be around me, and I should reside among the cows.

PM Modi said that we have constituted Kamdhenu Commission for the dairy sector and have linked the farmers with Kisan Credit Card. The government has also launched a nationwide campaign for animal feed and home treatment. Vaccination campaign is being run to get rid of hoof and mouth in animals. All these vaccines have been given free of cost by the government.
