A truck-load of Saris seized; Controversial UP minister on radar

Fatehpur: Police on Wednesday seized a truck that was transporting four thousand 'Saris', apparently for distribution ahead of the UP Assembly Polls 2017.

Surprisingly, the freight receipt presented by the truck driver has the name of controversial Uttar Pradesh minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati.

Saris were transported from Kanpur to Amethi and it is believed that Samajwadi Party was to distribute freebies to poor to swell its vote bank.

Police, however, has seized the truck and is questioning the driver to drill more details.
