Section 144 Imposed in Lucknow for Christmas and New Year; Strict Guidelines

In view of maintaining peace and law during the upcoming Christmas and New Year, orders under Section 144, effective immediately from December 24, 2023, to January 2, 2024 (10 days), have been issued in the Lucknow district.

1. All bars, malls, restaurants, hotels, etc., in the city of Lucknow are prohibited from admitting individuals beyond their designated capacity. The respective operators/managers are responsible for displaying notice of this intention outside their premises and ensuring compliance.

2. Events, whether indoors or outdoors, must not exceed the specified capacity, and tickets/entry will not be granted to individuals exceeding that limit.

3. Organizers/managers of hotels, malls, bars, restaurants, public places, etc., are accountable for maintaining controlled volume levels of loudspeakers within prescribed standards to prevent inconvenience to the general public.

4. Bar operators/managers with valid licenses must adhere to all conditions of the licenses issued, and under no circumstances operate beyond the specified time limit. Any violation will result in appropriate legal action, including action under Section 144 if necessary.
