RIP Lalji Tandon: CM Yogi announces three day State mourning

Lucknow: Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died on Tuesday morning at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. He was 85 years old. Tandon had been ill for the past several days. Tandon’s death was confirmed by his son and Uttar Pradesh government minister Ashutosh Tandon.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will come to pay homage to Lalji Tandon at 10:30 am and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at 1:00 pm.

State mourning in Uttar Pradesh:

The government of Uttar Pradesh has declared a three-day state mourning. Along with this, the Governor, Chief Minister and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly have deeply mourned his death.

On death of Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Home Minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Prakash Javadekar, Manoj Sinha, Mayawati and Akhilesh. Many people including Yadav mourned.

Babuji( Lalji) nahi rahe:

Lal Ji Tandon died at age of 85. He was in a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow. His son Ashutosh Tandon Gopalji announced the news of Lalji's demise. His son, Ashutosh Tandon, announced his death on Twitter with the message “babuji nahi rahe (my father has passed away)”.

“Shri Lalji Tandon will be remembered for his untiring efforts to serve society. He played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He made a mark as an effective administrator, always giving importance of public welfare. Anguished by his passing away,” PM Modi tweeted.

Lalji Tandon hospitalised in Lucknow in June with breathing problems. He was feeling difficulty in urination and fever and after that he was on ventilator support from June 11. Medanta Hospital, where he admitted, said at the time his condition was “serious”.
