Record-breaking human chain formed to support Bihar prohibition

Patna: Estimated two crore people of Bihar formed a human chain here on Saturday in support of prohibition which was introduced in the state last two years. The chain was more than 1200 kilometre long which may be recorded in the Guinness Book of records.

It was joined , among others, by chief minister Nitish Kumar, his mentor, former chief minister of the state Lalu Prasad Yadav and his cabinet colleagues.

A jubilant Nitish told media persons after the event that the chain was joined a large number of women and males of all groups including senior citizens.

" It has reestablished that people in general are in favour of prohibition and that his policy in this regard has got mass support", he added.
