UP Police takes initiative to bring back stranded people in Jeddah

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Javeed Ahmad on Tuesday penned a letter to Principal Secretary (Home) Debasish Panda, showing his concern over the natives of UP stranded in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

DGP Ahmad took the decision of making efforts to help the stranded people on foreign land after receiving a hoard of text and video messages over the official Twitter handle of UP Police.

Ahmad has requested Panda to hold talks with the foreign affairs ministry and ask for necessary action in the issue.

Rahul Srivastav, public relation officer of DGP office said, "We have informed the then minister of state of external affairs general (retired) VK Singh and union minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj via official Twitter handle of UP police. We hope the stranded Indians will return home soon and safely."
