Lucknow: The much awaited gift to the people of Agra city is going to meet the Yogi government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the green signal to inaugurate the construction work of Agra Metro. On Monday, December 7, today, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the construction work with an online presence.

With the commencement of the Metro operation in Lucknow, now the Yogi government has speeded up the work of connecting metros to metro services. The government claims that Metro trains will start running soon in Kanpur. With this, in the next two years, metro service will also start in Tajnagri Agra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to launch the construction work. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued special instructions to UPMRC to complete the first phase of the scheme by December 2022. Urban and Housing Minister Hardeep Puri of the Central Government will also be present in this program.

Two corridor work in Agra:

The first phase of the metro in Agra will work to connect the two ends of the city, as well as two important monuments. Metro service will start from Sikandra memorial on Mathura road and reach the eastern gate of Taj Mahal.

From Taj East to Sikandara:

The target is to start the metro operations from Sikandra to Taj East Gate by December 2022. The total cost of Agra Metro (including central taxes) is estimated at Rs 8379.62 crore. In this, the Taj East Gate corridor will be constructed from Sikandra in the first phase. The second corridor will be constructed between Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar. The length of this corridor is 15.4 km. There will be a total of 14 stations under it.
