Passenger files case against LMRC; seeks compensation

Lucknow: Days after the Lucknow Metro flagged off, a passenger has filed a case against it in the consumer forum on Thursday last.

Passenger named Gaurav Tripathi has filed a complaint against Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation and alleged that the delay of the metro, on September 6 last, made him miss his flight which led to heavy financial loss to him and his company.

He also demanded a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs from LMRC.

It may be mentioned that this is for the first time when any passenger has filed a complaint , seeking compensation from LMRC.

The incident:

On the first day of operation i.e. September 6, the Lucknow Metro had faced a technical glitch and had to take a halt on its route between Transport Nagar and Alambagh on Wednesday.

Gaurav, who was headed to Transport nagar station, had to take flight to Delhi at 0830 hours. But due to technical glitch, Tripathi missed his flight and an important meeting.
